Jon Walton Chief Information Officer and Director San Mateo County, California Walton is responsible for setting the technology vision and creating an innovative environment for San Mateo County. He brings 23 years of experience working in both the public and private sectors, including leadership positions at Unisys, the City of San Jose and the City of San Francisco. Under his leadership, San Mateo County implemented a shared service P25 Motorola radio system, a hyper-converged SDN datacenter, a multi-jurisdictional high-speed fiber network, SMC Public WiFi, and the county's award-winning Open Data Program. Walton has won numerous awards for technology excellence and leadership and works with governments, NGOs and communities to imagine new ways of delivering services and creating collaborative government organizations. Nathaniel Watkins Chief Information Officer Garrett County, Maryland Watkins has led the county Department of Technology and Communications for the past 14 years. DoTCom, a for- profit arm of the county government, allows the county to operate as an ISP. In addition to serving county, state and federal agencies, DoTCom provides network services to schools, colleges, hospitals, libraries and various businesses in Garrett County. Watkins is the technical contact for the county's last-mile wireless network, a public-private partnership of the Appalachian Regional Commission, the Declaration Networks Group and Garrett County. A wireless network that will reach the underserved areas of rural Garrett County has been designed and is being built.
