He previously worked with business development and sales management at a number of global companies, as well as with sales and market analysis. He holds an MSc in industrial engineering and management from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, and has further academic experience in economics and entrepreneurship at Stanford University, the University of California Berkeley, and Uppsala University, Sweden. Alan Fitzpatrick CEO Open Broadband, LLC Fitzpatrick is a technology entrepreneur and a strong advocate of broadband infrastructure. He co-founded Charlotte Hearts Gigabit, a nonprofit organization aimed at helping attract Google Fiber to Charlotte, North Carolina. He later co-founded the statewide effort: NC Hearts Gigabit. Open Broadband, an ISP providing broadband service to underserved communities, is his third startup. His corporate experience includes roles as COO of DC74 Data Centers, COO of VoIP Services at ACN Inc. and SVP of Engineering for US LEC Corp. Fitzpatrick teaches entrepreneurship and technology courses as an adjunct professor for Central Michigan University and Johnson and Wales University. He has an MBA from Vanderbilt University and a B.S. in industrial engineering from Purdue University. Hugh Forrest Chief Programming Officer South by Southwest Conference Under Forrest's leadership, the Interactive Festival track of the annual South by Southwest Conference brings together more than 70,000 digital creatives from across the United States and around the world. They are inspired by five days of panels, presentations, brainstorming, networking, deal-making, socializing, creating, innovating and fun. Forrest majored in English at Kenyon College. Before joining the SXSW team, he founded a small alternative publication called the Austin Challenger and wrote for several other newspapers. Justin Foster Manager, Community Technology Services LMC/A Lennar Multifamily Foster works with development teams and consulting firms on service provider selection as well as infrastructure requirements for voice, data video and other community technology services. He has more than 15 years of MDU experience, concentrated on community technology from both the owner and the provider prospective. Prior to joining Lennar Multifamily Communities, Justin worked at Suddenlink Communications as a major collaborator for design and engineering of all services provided to MDU communities, including managed Ethernet, bulk DOCSIS, FTTU, video and Wi-Fi.
