Dasan's FTTP solutions have been deployed to more than 30 million subscribers. Solutions for gigabit internet services include GPON, active Ethernet, NG-PON2 (next generation- passive optical network), which uses existing optical cables to deliver speeds up to 40 Gbps, and 10 GEPON, with line speeds of 10 Gbps. Dasan supplies such major service providers as Korea Telecom, SK Telecom, SoftBank Broadband, BSNL and Chunghwa Telecom. U.S. customers include New Knoxville Telephone, Horry Telephone, Benton Ridge Telephone, US Sonet and Hometown Cable. Dasan is pursuing a merger and acquisition involving Zhone Technologies, an American-based telecommunications equipment provider. Zhone will acquire Dasan Network Solutions from Dasan Networks and, in exchange, will issue common stock to Dasan Networks representing 58 percent of the combined company. e existing stockholders of Zhone will retain 42 percent of the combined company. e combined company will be called Dasan Zhone Solutions Inc. After the merger, Dasan Networks will be the seventh-largest provider of broadband access equipment and the sixth-largest provider of GPON equipment. Deep Fiber Solutions, based in Roswell, Georgia, offers a cable conversion service that removes the dielectric core from existing coaxial cable and replaces it with fiber optic infrastructure, dramatically faster and at substantially lower cost than traditional missiling, boring and trenching. Other services include temporary cable installation and optical network terminal installation. Founded in 2013 by cable industry veterans, Deep Fiber Solutions holds the exclusive U.S. patent license on a coax core ejection technology that is beginning to be widely used in the United States in both single-family and multifamily areas. Clients include several large and small cable operators across the United States.
