64 BROADBAND COMMUNITIES SUMMIT 2019 Show Guide Sponsor SPEAKERS Brian Regan Vice President – Legal, Policy, and Strategy Starry Internet Brian is a seasoned communications and technology attorney with more than 10 years of experience working within government and the private sector. Brian is currently the Vice President for Legal, Policy, and Strategy at Starry, Inc. In this role, Brian develops and executes Starry's spectrum strategy in the U.S. and abroad, leads Starry's policy development, and provides strategic regulatory and policy guidance to Starry's leadership team. Prior to joining Starry, Brian held several senior positions in the Federal Communications Commission's Wireless Bureau, including Associate Bureau Chief, and Chief of Staff and Senior Legal and Policy Advisor. During his tenure at the FCC, Brian managed the Wireless Bureau's spectrum policy portfolio and helped lead the FCC's spectrum policy coordination with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and other federal agencies. Brian played a significant role in major spectrum policy initiatives, including AWS-3, AWS-4, 3.5 GHz/Citizens Broadband Radio Service, and Spectrum Frontiers (5G). Prior to joining the FCC, Brian was the Director of Government Affairs for the Wireless Infrastructure Association. Brian is a graduate of the University of Delaware and the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America, where he earned his J.D. and certificate in communications law studies. He resides in Manhattan with his wife. Jeff Reiman Principal The Broadband Group Reiman has a comprehensive understanding of technology, capital market structure and entrepreneurial leadership that enables him to help clients build structures that advance broadband network deployments and create IoT implementation strategies for cities and large-scale development projects. Prior to joining The Broadband Group, Reiman worked in the Boston office of Credit Suisse investment bank, on the equities sales and trading floor. He also served on the international sales and marketing team of Wave7 Optics, a fiber-to-the-home equipment supplier, managing the Mexico, Canada and Caribbean sales regions. Reiman began his career at the Washington, D.C., headquarters of a presidential campaign and is a graduate of Harvard University with a degree in government. Michael Render CEO and Principal Analyst RVA LLC Market Research and Consulting Render is a recognized expert in North American fiber broadband rollout and a regular presenter at national and international broadband and smart cities conferences as well as a consultant to numerous public and private organizations in the fiber optic industry. The Fiber Broadband Association, Broadband Communities and many others rely on his research. RVA, a nationally and internationally known firm with a 30-year history of service to a wide range of organizations, recently expanded research into the growing fields of 5G and smart city technology deployment. Render has received numerous industry awards for his work in the broadband arena and for RVA's research influence on FCC policy and is a Broadband Communities Cornerstone Award recipient.
