44 BROADBAND COMMUNITIES SUMMIT 2019 Show Guide Sponsor SPEAKERS Heather Burnett Gold CEO HBG Strategies, LLC Burnett Gold previously served as president/CEO of the Fiber Broadband Association (formerly the Fiber to the Home Council North America), a nonprofit organization that helps members plan, market, implement and manage fiber-to- the-home solutions. Currently, she is the CEO of HBG Strategies, LLC, a consulting firm designed to connect people and communities with solutions for deployment of high capacity, future-proof broadband networks. Prior to joining the Association, Gold served as senior vice president of External Affairs for XO Communications, a $1.5 billion telecommunications company, where she regularly interacted with Congress, the Federal Communications Commission, the White House and state lawmakers and regulators. Gold has more than 30 years of experience in the industry. The Washington Business Journal honored her as one of its 2010 Women Who Mean Business. Gold received her BA (magna cum laude) and MA degrees in economics from Tufts University and earned an MBA in finance and marketing from Washington University in St. Louis. She also completed the General Management Program of the Harvard Business School. Kenrick Gordon, P.E. Director Governor's Office of Rural Broadband, State of Maryland Gordon has more than 30 years of experience in engineering design and construction administration. He began his career as a civil engineer working with municipalities on public works projects. He then moved into commercial industrial development, ultimately managing development for a small development company. He served the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a general field representative for the Rural Utilities Service Telecommunications Program, assisting small telephone companies and internet providers seeking federal funding for telecommunications improvements, including broadband expansion. At the Governor's Office of Rural Broadband, Gordon oversees the expansion of broadband statewide to bring access to households and businesses in Maryland's rural areas. He works with agencies in county, state and federal governments and with independent provider stakeholders to establish and enact a plan to provide statewide access to high-speed internet. Robert Grosz Vice President, Strategic Alliances Boingo Wireless Grosz, a leader in the real estate and telecommunications industries for more than 20 years, helps real estate owners create value from investments in technology by enhancing the resident or guest experience, facilitating connectivity solutions and harvesting actionable data to better manage real estate assets. Before joining Boingo, Grosz led the commercial division of DISH Network and held roles at telecommunications companies, where he focused on growing profitable portfolios of rooftop antennas for mobile communications operators and structuring cable television and internet managed services agreements with prominent real estate investment companies. Grosz graduated cum laude with his BBA in finance and BA in economics from the University of Wisconsin. He currently resides in Dallas, Texas and serves on the Multifamily Broadband Council.
