She supports Comcast's Xfinity Communities team, working with property owners, colleges and universities, developers and homeowners associations to provide MDU residents access to the best entertainment products and services. Brown advises Comcast personnel on a wide range of broadband and technology related matters, regulatory issues and commercial transactions. Sean Buckley Associate Editor Broadband Communities Buckley comes to Broadband Communities after nine years as senior editor at FierceTelecom, a daily online newsletter. He also oversaw FierceInstaller, a weekly publication chronicling trends in network installation. Previously, he spent eight years at Horizon House publications, serving as senior editor and later as editor-in-chief of Telecommunications Magazine and Telecom Engine. He also had a one-year stint at Current Analysis tracking public sector IT trends. Buckley got his start in the telecom industry in 1998, when he joined Information Gatekeepers, tracking enterprise and optical networking trends. He holds a B.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. John Burchett Director, Public Policy and Government Relations Google Access and Google Fiber Before moving to Access/Fiber, Burchett led public policy for Google in the United States, Latin America and Canada. Prior to joining Google, he was chief of staff for Governor Jennifer Granholm, acting as COO for the state of Michigan. A Michigan native, Burchett has lived in Washington for most of the last 19 years. He was a White House Fellow in 1997–1998, a special assistant to the secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, an assistant management officer for the DC Control Board, and a management consultant specializing in state and local government, business planning and business process reengineering. Burchett earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. Timothy J. Burke Vice President, Strategic Technology Liberty Global, Inc. Burke reports directly to the Liberty Global corporate CTO and has worked on key video, broadband, telephony and B2B technology projects in Europe, the Caribbean, Latin America, Japan and Australia. Recently, his focus has centered on wireless initiatives at Liberty Global's subsidiaries. Prior to Liberty, Burke spent two years with Level 3 in their lead contract negotiations position, six years with Qwest Communications and two years at Sprint Communications, leading their nationwide development and build- out functions. Prior to Sprint, he spent 14 years at Verizon in both the fixed and wireless business. He holds a B.S. in mathematics from Siena College and an MBA from the State University of New York at Albany and has published numerous NCTA, SCTE and CableLabs technical articles and white papers.
