Trough theOM's partnership with LITE, business startups have access to premium ofce space and the advanced visualization venues. TeOM also gives members access to an extensive network of business professionals who ofer advice covering a broad range of subjects from accounting and fnance to marketing and legal services. TeOM is a single vehicle that brings together the individual elements of the community to accelerate the growth of technology startups. Te mission of theOM is to accelerate wealth creation by immersing technology wildcatters into a fber- powered community of innovators. Any new business that wants to become a member of theOM can submit an application for membership. When appropriate, an invitation will be issued to present to theOM steering committee for incubation consideration. TeOM looks for potential members that • Have entrepreneurial spirit • Create jobs for the local economy • Generate intellectual capital • Apply science to business in an innovative way • Fit the overall community strategy • Give back to the member community • Are willing to be part of a culture of fun and success. Trough theOM's partnership with LITE and access to LUS Fiber's broadband services, businesses from all over the world have established a second location or moved their operation centers to Lafayette. MEMBERS' STORIES Tree of the nine technology organizations currently located at the LITE facility – Pixel Magic, Academy of Interactive Entertainment and Data Specialties Group – illustrate the diversity of activities that take place there. Pixel Magic, a computer-based visual efects (VFX) company based in Los Angeles, has been in business for more than 25 years. It opened its Lafayette location in 2009 and has since provided visual efects for three movies ranked No. 1 at the box ofce – "Insidious 2," "Te Butler" and "Te Conjuring." Pixel was invited to be theOM's frst member in 2009 following a series of conversations between theOM and LITE. The LITE Theatre is equipped with high-defnition, 3D projection and THX surround sound.
